“I remember seeing a flyer for the LGBTQ game nights soon after I moved to Erie last summer. It immediately made me excited to see that Erie had spaces for the LGBTQ community, especially because I had moved here from a bigger city and wasn't sure what to expect in terms of finding an LGBTQ community in Erie. When I went to the game nights, everyone was welcoming and happy to be there. In an age when many LGBTQ events are focused around partying and drinking, it was so nice to have a space that was more of a gentle introduction to the community. I'm really grateful that this space was organized, and I'll always remember seeing the flyer for the game night as a moment where I felt like I could belong in Erie.”

“I attended my first Game Night in the Wellness Weekend series, and I have to say that my experience was great! I have not heard of enough programs that hold such an open, safe, and genuine space for clients, providers, and community members. I thought it provided a great space to bond and socialize with people you have never met and make connections. There was no pressure on anyone to be a part of any activity they didn't want to, and could come and leave at any time. I didn't feel any 'clinical' vibe to the event even though there were providers/clinicians present. I believe this shows attendees how we are all human beings and encourages them to connect even more genuinely. I believe the Wellness Weekend series can have a great impact on anyone who attends, especially for people looking to "get out" and build connections. “
